I'm really tired of this bug.
Gordon's Tech: Unknown Error during iPhone app install or updateI can use the uncheck/check app method to get the updates on, but I need to restore all data and configuration.
I'm getting this error with the iPhone I was given when my original white 3G phone cracked.Unkown Error On The iPhone | DamienKomala.com
... Ok so every time I try and update or upgrade an application on my iPhone I get this “Unknown Error: 0xE800002E. After some adjustments I was able to find a method to resolve, or at least update my apps. Here’s the key ...
The 2.0.2 update didn't help. It's scant comfort to know thousands of other people have the same problem.
Don't buy an iPhone until I write that the bug is fixed. This is a deal breaker bug, you don't want to run into it.
I have a question for you that is no related to this post.
ReplyDeleteI found your review of your Sony Car Stereo. I agree that the UI of the stereo for Xplod is horrible, especially for podcasts.
But my problem is that when I it lists the podcasts, it puts them in alphabetical order and not date order. Do you know how to change that?
If you can post your response on my blog (www.changerace.blogspot.com) that would be great. Thanks!
I have the exact same problem. I recently got an iPhone 3g and whenever I try to update it comes up with that error, then listing the apps that won't update. I has found that deletin the app then installin on your computer again does the trick, but this isn't good for apps to be paid for, as it means you have to purchase it again.
ReplyDeleteWaiting patiently for the next update right now. If no better, might have to make a big complaint about it.
I chatted with an apple genius about this one. He says he fixed it by doing a full refresh then a restore from backup. This loses password info, but that's not so bad. I might give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI've had the same problem. Often what I find that works is deleting the app from the iphone and then reinstalling it from itunes through a sync. Unfortunately I believe this means you also lose any prior data for the updated app.
ReplyDeletePoint for my Apple Genius. With iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 his fix worked:
