Things for task and project management: fastest product evaluation ever

My evaluation of Things - task management on the Mac went like this:
  1. Visit site: note price $50
  2. Download trial and launch: 2 min
  3. Look for (missing) import and export functionality: 2 min
  4. Open empty help file: 1 min (might be OS X bug)
  5. Delete app
Who would be crazy enough to put all their tasks and projects into a tool that had absolutely no data mobility options?

  1. The iPhone client is slick, and they got that Apple design award, but the company's development process is hopelessly broken. Given their user revolts, they had to remove the user forum link from their public site, but you can see a typical thread here:,27072,27193

In a way, it's amazing that they didn't just take the forum down.

On the plus side, if you used Things, you'd have weird anomalies to comment on every day for the foreseeable future. My theory is that they have basic skills, but are out of their depth. It's a tragi-comedy...
